Which is better Resotr or Crystalens for Cataracts?
- Category: Health & Medical
My boss is having cataract surgery and is being given two options, Restor or Cyrstalens. Can someone who has had either verision please let me know what you experience has been. Or if you have knowledge of either which is best. Thank you.

I have a ReZoom in my right (dominant) eye and a ReStor in the left eye. I like both lenses, and they tend to “balance” each other out depending on the lighting and circumstances. ReZoom is better for intermediate vision, but ReStor is better for extreme closeup. Both lenses are great for distance vision. you do get halos around bright lights at night, so you have to be prepared for that kind of tradeout.
I don’t have personal experience with the Crystalens, but have heard good reports because this one actually duplicates the natural movement of your eye’s natural lens (which is removed during cataract surgery). I have heard reports that this one might not restore as much of your range of what you see in focus without glasses. But on the other hand, you have clearer vision because you are looking through a “single vision” rather than “multifocal” lens.

The new aspheric restor implant lens is superior to the crystal lens in my experience.
