How long is vision corrected for after LASIK?
- Category: Lasik Eye Surgery
I had LASIK this Feb and it’s gone great except for issues with Dry eyes. Just wondering how long the effects of the LASIK are likely to last for? Will I need glasses again to correct vision? How long will I get without them? Right now my vision is great (better than 20/20 I was told at my last appt).

The correction of your myopia should last a lifetime. Sometime in your forties, you will began to have trouble seeing up close but that is a different issue. One way to think of your eyes now as being like someone your age that never needed glasses.

Congratulations for having successful surgery and enjoying perfect vision.
Your eyes may be perfect for 10 years and even more…But get your eyes checked frequently to avoid any risks and also enjoy perfect vision.

You’re doing great since your vision is even better from 20/20. You can’t know if it’s gonna change. But the percentage is below 1% so don’t be afraid.
Dry eyes is a very common side effect which sometimes never stops and you might need forever some artificial tears. But most people recover from it after some years.
Good luck!
